Welcome to the Durham Region Long Term Transit Strategy (LTTS) website
Durham Region Transit (DRT) seeks to provide reliable and safe transit options to our area municipalities and communities. DRT constantly strives to improve its transit service delivery. We are currently undertaking a Long-Term Transit Strategy to address growth, manage our operations more effectively, and deliver better quality of service to our customers.
The Long-Term Transit Strategy (LTTS) will develop a comprehensive strategy for advancing rapid transit in Durham Region within the context of the broader mobility goals of the Region consistent with Phases 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class EA process. The strategy will emphasize rapid transit and its integral place within sustainable transportation options that will help the Region address anticipated transportation demands to 2031 and beyond (to 2056).
This strategy will lay out a vision, assess alternatives, and establish specific directions for transit in Durham Region and the role that rapid transit will take in the years to come.
